I use manual mode, then I expose on the brightist part of the image then underexspose by one stop. Also set your camera to spot metering mode.(or center weight metering mode if you dont have spot)

The Sigma 70-200 2.8 is sweet, but if you are willing to shoot a higher ISO the Nikon 70-300 4/5.6G is a sweet lens for not much money at all. Worth it to fill in a spot until you get the money for a pro set up.

I paid just under $1000 for my 70-200mm F2.8 Sigma. These lenses are professional and dont come with a cheap price tag; however, the ability to run super fast shutter speeds in low light is well worth the money spent.
